The Red Tails are one of the most recognized fighter groups of World War II. It was a group of planes piloted by black pilots and was often disregarded. After escorting bombers they became well known and the bomber pilots requested that the Red Tails escort them. They were one of the only groups (maybe the only, I'll have to do some research) not to lose a bomber.
